I have used this book for years after reading the original version. A good complimentary activity is to make pizza from scratch with your class and share it!

As a kindergarten teacher, The Little Red Hen has always been one of my favorite stories. Not only does it have a great moral about working hard for the common good but the dialog lens itself well to repetition of high frequency words that are now being taught in Kindergarten.

I haven't read the version that you mention yet but I'm going to look for it in the library.

I was so excited to see a podcast on a sequel to "The Little Red Hen!" That was one of my absolute favorites growing up! I feel as though I am gearing myself toward teaching kindergarten next year, so i was very excited to find another book to add to my list. This one, of course, being used to introduce "doing your part," or being a part of a team and reaping the rewards. The story seems to follow the same lesson and style of the original, however there is a modern spin on it. It is like so many movies that come out nowadays... a revival of past favorites...a sure winner!
