I have never heard of this book until this year. As a soon to be early childhood teacher, I'm always looking for children's books to read in the classroom or save for my future class. This one caught my eye right away, epecially since I'm part Vietnamese myself and enjoy eating the lotus fruit.

I still haven't read the book yet and cannot find it in any of the bookstores in the area, but I plan on checking it out from the library and reading it. Maybe even use it in my student teaching site. I'll also read it to my momm which I'm sure she will enjoy it and apperciate the meaning behind it. This is one of the rare books that catches my eye and at the same time tugs a bit at my heart all before I have even read the book.

Who knows maybe next time I eat lotus, I'll save the seed!
