Very interesting article. Fun seeing your picture too. Funny how people never seem to look like you think they do from their podcasting voice. I've always pictured you both more middle aged and Andrea in a brown turtle neck with long, straight hair. Anyhow, I so appreciate your podcast and have only 3 to listen to to catch up. I've checked out some of the books for my daughter, who has just turned two, and some for me to read and hopefully share with her when she's older. I have a growing list of books to find for her, now or in the future, thanks to your podcast! Wish it had been around when I was teaching elementary school. Keep up the great work!

I have to echo Charles.... it's about time the Ottawa Citizen noticed Children's publishing, publishing in general for that matter that didn't include the name of those three authors (no illustrators) that have become the only names in Canada it seems.
Hooray for you two for bringing the industry to the fore front!

TomKat & Brangelina Miffed!

By-line: STR, Ottawa (the new centre of the media universe).

Brad, Angie, Tom & Katie are cruising to the pitts; no jolies in their holmes. If Angelina pouts, it will likely trigger "The Big One". But that's not the story. Andrea & Mark, hip personified, have podcasted a spell over the paparazzi. This new, hot couple is snatching the limelight, and headlines, right from the clutches of politicians and Hollywood stars alike. They can be spotted in the coolest joints in town, no jacket required. By hook or by book, they've put this town on the cyber-set map.

Unassuming, modest, and with no regard for monetary matters, this reporter can only wonder: Will success spoil Mandrea?

Congratulations Andrea & Mark!
My only question might be, why didn't they do this earlier?!?

Great article -- congratulations! I liked the comment: "kids are a lot smarter than adults give them credit for. They also think picture books are smarter than adults give them credit for; there's no age limit on a good picture book.."

Kids are also more visually astute than most adults -- and as your kids let you know, the cover is really important. I'm always amazed at the number of picture book reviews (not yours of course) that say nothing about the cover, or the pictures, or the page spread compositions.
