[...] The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart, illustrated by Carson Ellis.
There's a second book. I haven't even read the first yet although I've had for some time now. Better get on with it soon. Thanks for your review.

Have you read the new one, Tricia? This first book is a tough act to follow and I really hope it's as good.

I bought the second book as soon as it came out and tried to save it (and the fact that a second book even existed) for a special occasion. I managed somehow to keep it secret until we had finished the book and had a day or so to miss the characters -- but when Lucy announced she was going to re-read the first book on her own, I broke down and brought the new one out. How could I resist??

I loved this book and recommended it during the holidays to parents looking for "puzzle" books for their kids. The second book just came out a few weeks ago and I can't wait to read it. The title is The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey.
